Computer Ethics

Computer ethics is the set of moral values that has defined as to follow the rules and regulation of computer technology and not to harm other computer users knowingly and unknowingly. It refers to ethical principles focused on how user, programmers and others who are involved in the use of development of computer programs and equipment. Computer ethics is a set of principles or code of conducts that regulate the use of computers systematically without making harm to other user. It gives awareness to the user regarding the immoral behavior and activities in the computing field. The computer ethics institute in the Washington DC has proposed the ten commandments of computer ethics. They are:

  • You should not use a computer to harm other people.
  • You should not use a computer to publish fake information.
  • You should not search the file or record of other people.
  • You should not destroy or delete the records of other people.
